Zillow, an Internet property site, is arguably the most popular real estate app, especially among consumers in the United States and Canada. Zillow is a pioneer in Internet home value listings and reports real home values, recent sale prices, and more to users based on the realtor data it collects. For this, Zillow receives a commission. Since it is so popular with consumers, it has a huge and ever-growing user base. The application works with most Windows based systems as well as with mobile phones such as smartphones and Blackberries.
The free version of Zillow requires no registration or login information. Zillow provides users with the ability to create a free account, which is good because the application works well with people who are new to the site. After creating your account you will need to add three zip codes. After the zip code selection, Zillow will search the United States Postal Service website and show you all available properties for that area. If you don't have access to that information you can use other sites to narrow down your search. You can select properties that fit the zip code you entered.
When you find a property that fits the criteria you have set up in your application you will see a list of all the new properties for that area on your screen. You can select the property you want to view by selecting "view for free"go to the home page." Once you have selected a home and location, you will be taken to a screen where you will need to enter in the street address and/or street name. You can also choose to purchase the property from the home page if you would prefer.
